Ulysses
I have a novel to devour -
The vast and knotty one.
I have to visit Joyce's tower,
Stroll through a slum.
Unprepossessing? It is not.
It's greek to me.
Highlights? I found quite a lot.
He writes conclusively.
Still hardly any person would
Of his or her free will
Dive into it. Not many could
Subdue this wordy hill.
Apart from that, I find it great
In many ways. Uneasy task!
And then, considering its weight -
(Both meanings, if you ask),
It's relevant. Moreover, it's
Akin to nothing. Pure bliss.
To sum it up – I long for it.
A tasty piece of work to eat.
